Coon Rapids Snowflake Days is back for its 62nd year, bringing a full lineup of winter fun to the community from January 30 through February 8, 2026. This long-standing tradition offers something for everyone, whether you’re looking for competitive challenges, family-friendly outings, or a cozy co mmunity meal. Here is a look at the featured activities and schedule for this year’s celebration: Signature Events Competitions Community Medallion Hunt (Jan 30 – Feb 8): The hunt begins Friday, January 30. Daily clues will be posted at 8:00 a.m. on the official Snowflake Days website. The first person to find the medallion on city property wins a $500 cash prize (2026 button required to claim). Snow Sculpture Contest (Jan 30 – Feb 2): Transform your front yard into an art gallery! Sculptures must be completed by 11:59 p.m. on February 2. Judging takes place on February 3, with winners announced the following day. Mayor’s Cup Simulated Golf (Jan 28 – Jan 31): Head to Bunker Hills Golf Club for the qualifiers, leading up to the finals on Saturday, January 31. Weekend Fun Community Gatherings Royal Ambassador Coronation (Saturday, Jan 31): Celebrate the crowning of the 2026 ambassadors at the Civic Center starting at 1:00 p.m. Guns ‘n Hoses Hockey Game (Sunday, Feb 1): Watch the Coon Rapids Police and Fire Departments face off at the Coon Rapids Ice Center from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for kids. Chili Challenge (Thursday, Feb 5): Sample a variety of chili recipes at the Civic Center from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and vote for your favorite. Senior Snowflake Party (Friday, Feb 6): Seniors are invited to the Civic Center at 11:00 a.m. for lunch and live music by Coda. Winter Fun at Sand Creek (Saturday, Feb 7): From 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., enjoy a kids’ medallion hunt, “Cookies Canvas” crafts, and outdoor skating at Sand Creek Park. Grand Finale Waffle Breakfast Awards (Sunday, Feb 8): Start your morning at the Civic Center between 8:00 a.m. and Noon for a waffle breakfast hosted by the North Star Lions. The official awards ceremony for all contest winners will follow at noon. Family Fun Day at CRIC (Sunday, Feb 8): Wrap up the festivities at the Coon Rapids Ice Center.
