(KRON) -- Don’t roll the credits just yet. A beloved dine-in movie theater in Campbell that was days away from permanently closing said that it has reached a new agreement and will remain open. Pruneyard Cinemas, located in The Pruneyard shopping center at 1875 South Bascom Avenue, announced on J anuary 7 that rising costs had made business unsustainable, and that it would close for good on January 25. In an update shared on Friday, the movie theater said it reached a new agreement with its property owners, Regency Centers, after the City of Campbell stepped in. Green Day to kick off Super Bowl opening ceremony at Levi’s Stadium “Because of the overwhelming support from our community—emails, phone calls, social media posts, press coverage, and your voices being heard—we’ve reached an agreement with Regency Centers that allows us to continue serving Campbell and the South Bay,” Pruneyard Cinemas wrote. Pruneyard Cinemas first opened in 2018 and features a food menu more akin to a restaurant than to a typical movie theater.
