DENVER Police in Denver announced Monday that they are investigating a 2-year-olds death as a homicide and later announced an arrest in the case.Police were called to a home in the 100 block of S. Vrain Street in Denver on Sund
ay, around 5:30 a.m., on a report of an unresponsive toddler. The 2-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene, according to DPD.Later that day, DPD announced Nicholas Stout, 38, faces charges of first-degree murder and child abuse resulting in death in the case.Stout, whose relation to the victim is unknown, was arrested Sunday afternoon, according to DPD, after investigators found probable cause. Police said there were no other victims.Police did not disclose additional details in the case as the cause of the toddlers death is still under investigation.Stout will appear in Denver County Court on Tuesday at 10:30 a.m.
