A homicide investigation was underway Monday after two people were shot and killed on a Grant Hill street early Monday, and three children were found nearby. San Diego police said they received an anonymous report at about 12:30 a.m. that two people were lying on the street near 27th Street and Imperial Avenue. The caller said at least one person “appeared bloody,” according to police. When officers arrived, a man and a woman, both believed to be in their 20s or early 30s, were found dead. The nature of their injuries was not clear but detectives said shell casings were found at the scene, and their deaths appeared to be homicidal. In a nearby vehicle, detectives found three children under the age of two. All were unharmed and taken into protective custody. Police told NBC 7 they do not have a suspect description at this point, but they have no reason to believe this is a case of murder-suicide. An investigation at the scene is ongoing. Anyone with information was asked to call SDPD’s homicide team at (619) 531-2293 or Crime Stoppers at (888) 580-8477. ...read more read less
