Famous East Coast Korean barbecue restaurant Honey Pig BBQ will soon make its San Antonio debut. According to Texas filings, the grill-it-yourself hot spot will soon begin renovations on a former Quiznos shop in the Northwoods Shopping Center, 18130 San Pedro Ave.The restaurant specializes in gogigu i, allowing guests to scorch meats like brisket, bulgogi, galbi (ribs), duck, and pork belly. Honey Pig also offers a few less commonly found cuts like beef tongue, intestines, and pork neck, and seafood such as shrimp or squid.Unlike many Korean barbecue spots, the restaurant does not usually offer an all-you-can-eat experience. The Katy location, however, does offer a limitless option, so there's hope that San Antonio diners will be able to truly pig out.Rounding out the menu are other Korean classics, including steamed and pan-fried mandu dumplings, kimchi or seafood pancakes, tteokbokki (rice cakes simmered in a spicy sauce), bibimbap, and various soups. ...read more read less
