Another day of dry weather, cool mornings and warm afternoons
Jan 19, 2026
(BCN) -- The National Weather Service forecast for the greater San Francisco Bay Area for Monday calls for mostly sunny skies during the day, with multiple areas expected to get patchy or areas of fog at night.
Daytime highs will be mostly in the mid 60s to low 70s on the coast, in the low to high
60s around the bay, and in the high 50s to low 70s inland. Overnight lows will be mostly in the low to high 40s, with some parts of the region reaching the 50s.
Dry weather, cool mornings and warm afternoons are expected to continue Monday across the San Francisco Bay Area, with patchy fog slowing some early commuters, forecasters say. The NWS says fog developed early Monday morning in the North Bay Valleys, with some localized reports of dense fog that sharply reduced visibility. Similar conditions are possible in the interior East Bay valleys and around the Delta and nearby bays.
Forecasters stopped short of issuing a dense fog advisory, saying the thickest fog was limited to smaller areas. Still, drivers are urged to be cautious, slow down, and be ready for sudden changes in visibility during the morning commute. Once the fog clears, skies are expected to turn sunny as high pressure remains firmly in place over the West Coast.
Temps are running well above normal for mid-January. Warmer readings are expected farther south along the Central Coast, according to the NWS. Winds are expected to stay light and offshore through midweek, helping keep conditions dry.
The overall pattern of mild afternoons and cool, foggy mornings is expected to continue through the week.
