CHARLOTTE, N.C. – A dog was rescued from a house fire as crews worked in below freezing conditions to put it out.  The fire broke out just before 4:30 a.m. Friday morning on Claremont Road in west Charlotte. Five people have to find a new place to stay after heavy smoke and flames caused sub stantial damage to the home.
