Tonight, winds have died down and it will be a chilly night with overnight lows in the 20s for the Denver metro area.Sunday is actually shaping up to be a pretty nice winter day by Colorado standards. A brief ridge of high press ure moves in, and downsloping winds will help boost temperatures into the low 50s on the plains. Skies will be mostly quiet during the day, making it a decent opportunity to get outside before the next system arrives. Changes roll in late Sunday night as a fast-moving weather system slides across northeast Colorado. This will bring a round of light snow, developing Sunday evening and continuing into the early hours of Monday. While moisture is limited, the setup favors efficient snow production, so most spots along the I-25 corridor, the eastern plains, and nearby foothills could pick up anywhere from a trace to about two inches. From warm air to light snow on SundayThat light snow could still cause some headaches driving around the Front Range on Monday morning. Snow-covered and slick roads are possible, especially where snow bands linger overnight. The mountains may see a bit more accumulation, while areas far northeast near the Nebraska border may miss out almost entirely. After that system moves out, things calm down nicely. From Tuesday through much of the rest of the week, weather looks fairly tranquil and dry. Well stay in a northwest flow pattern, with temperatures bouncing around a bit above and below normal and only a few minor chances for very light snow. Overall, no major weather impacts are expected beyond Monday morning.DENVER WEATHER LINKS: Hourly forecast | Radars | Traffic | Weather Page | 24/7 Weather StreamClick here to watch the Denver7 live weather stream. ...read more read less
