TIPPECANOE COUNTY, Ind. (WISH) — A woman is dead following a multi-vehicle crash on Hoosier Heartland Corridor near County Road 700 N. According to Tippecanoe County Sheriff’s Office, a 2016 Ford Focus, driven by 32-year-old Kendy Provins of Indianapolis, was traveling north on State Road 25 when control was lost on the icy road. The car spun and was struck by a 2011 Hyundai. Provins had one passenger in his car. The Hyundai was then struck from behind by a northbound semi-trailer, driven by 44-year-old Manno Laborde, forcing the car off the road. A female in the backseat of the Hyundai died from the collision. During the investigation of the fatal crash, at 8:10 am, a 2013 Chevrolet Express passenger bus from St. Joseph High School of South Bend was traveling southbound when the driver lost control and spun off the right side County Road 700 N. Including the bus driver, there were nine juvenile male passengers on board. No serious injuries were reported and they have all been released. The name of the deceased will be released following an autopsy report from the Tippecanoe County Sheriff’s Office on Tuesday.
