Sedgwick County officials lifted mandatory evacuations after crews gained containment on a wildfire burning along Interstate 76 on Friday night. The fire was reported near the intersection of Colorado 59 and I-76, just before 6 p.m., the Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office said on Facebook. “The wildfire at Interstate 76 and Highway 59 has been knocked down, and fire crews from multiple agencies have successfully contained the blaze,” sheriff’s officials said. “We are now in the final mop-up stages.” Colorado’s Eastern Plains are currently under a red flag warning for extreme fire danger from high winds and low humidity, according to the National Weather Service.
