Orleans Parish is well represented in this week’s Commission Accomplished with the top highest priced homes sold residing in the French Quarter, Uptown, and in the Irish Channel.
For the week of Jan. 4-10, 924 Orleans Ave. in the French Quarter ranks as the highest priced home sold, selling for $1.6 million. Ranking second is 927 Valence St. in Uptown New Orleans, selling for $1.375 million, and rounding out the top three is 916 Third St. in the Irish Channel, selling for $1.325 million.
924 Orleans Ave. takes French Quarter living to a new level with a three-story main residence that includes a second-floor balcony overlooking Orleans Avenue and the St Louis Cathedral, and a three-story, two-bedroom guest house accessible through a courtyard. Constructed in 1844, the main residence has been restored and maintained over the years. Combined with the guest house, the property features 5 bedrooms, 6 bathrooms, and 4,800 square feet of living space.
924 Orleans Ave. sold for $1.6 million on Jan. 9. The listing agents were Lisa Shedlock and Ed Shedlock with The Shedlock Group, FQR Realtors, and the sales agent was Leslie Heindel with Crescent City Living, LLC. Shedlock’s clients bought 924 Orleans Ave. in 2013, and invested significant renovations and upgrades, while also adding custom architectural details to further enhance the historical character of the home
“It is one of the most quintessential French Quarter properties I have encountered,” said Lisa Shedlock. “The home is in a prime location and has historic, architectural details that buyers dream about – high ceilings, wood floors, large windows, and crown molding. It was an honor to help my clients move onto their next chapter, pass this home onto another family, and we found a perfect fit of homeowners who will appreciate the home just as much as they did.”
Heindel echoed Shedlock’s sentiment. “My clients moved to New Orleans about five years ago and always desired to live in the French Quarter,” said Heindel. “This beautiful, historic property spoke to them and was truly their dream home to fulfill their desire of French Quarter living.”
The spacious formal and light-filled living rooms and dining rooms are adorned with hardwood floors, soaring ceilings, marble fireplaces, crystal/glass chandeliers, crown molding ,and large windows with custom drapery. The kitchen features stainless steel appliances, granite counters, a large pantry, and cupboard space.
The primary bedroom suite encompasses the second floor with a spa-like bathroom, walk-in designer closet, and three French doors that open to the balcony overlooking Orleans Ave., and the St Louis Cathedral. The third floor includes two large bedrooms and a jack and jill bathroom.
Each floor has its own water heater and HVAC, and the main residence is separately metered from the guest house. Through the courtyard is a three-story guest house with a separate entrance for privacy. The guest house includes 2 bedrooms, 2½ bathrooms, and its own full kitchen and laundry room.
For all you New Orleans historians, 924 Orleans Ave. was originally owned by Louis A. Peychaud of the Peychaud family that created Peychaud’s Bitters. Now distributed by the Sazerac Company and produced at Buffalo Trace Distillery in Kentucky, Peychaud’s Bitters is best known as a key ingredient in New Orleans cocktails, especially the Sazerac.
924 Orleans Ave. was also previously owned by Antonio Monteleone, a Sicilian immigrant who founded the iconic Hotel Monteleone in the French Quarter around 1886. He worked as a cobbler on Royal Street before entering the hotel business.
927 Valence St. is an Italianate double gallery home that was built in 2004 and combines modern living with historic New Orleans architectural details.
Featuring 4 bedrooms, 3½ bathrooms, and 3,035 square feet of living space, the Uptown luxury home sold for $1.375 million on Jan. 7. The listing agent was Lauren Rosendahl with Valmont Realtors, while the sales agent was Michael Moore with Homesmart Realty South.
The exterior begins with a classic New Orleans double porch, and interior architectural features include antique pine floors, high ceilings, a sweeping staircase, abundant storage space, and a first-floor guest suite. The open, spacious kitchen was fully renovated in 2025 with an arched entry, custom cabinetry, and new tile flooring. The kitchen doors lead to a rear porch and a turfed, fenced backyard.
The second floor has three bedrooms, two full bathrooms, a laundry room, and a bonus room. The primary suite features two large sized closets and double vanities in the bathroom. There are two parking spots secured by an electric gate, and the home is in walking distance to Magazine St. and routes for the Uptown Mardi Gras parades.
916 Third St. is a New Orleans home in the Irish Channel that dates to 1903 and was restored from the studs up in 2023. Reimagined by New Orleans-based interior decorator Tyler + Tate, the luxury home features 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, and 2,225 square feet of living space on a 3,480 square-foot lot.

Both floors feature primary suites, each designed as a private retreat with modern finishes. The chef’s kitchen anchors the home with custom cabinetry, stainless steel appliances, solid stone surfaces, and a spacious pantry.
