X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter, went down for tens of thousands of users Friday morning. More than 78,000 outages were reported as of 10:16 a.m. ET, according to Downdetector. By 1:43 p.m., the site was mostly restored, with Downdetector reporting just over 1,000 outages. The outages were reported across the U.S., including major cities like New York City, Los Angeles and Dallas, according to Downdetector. Most of the reported issues were in the X app (56%), followed by the website (33%) and server connection (10%), according to Downdetector.
