    COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– ABC Columbia has additional context about a possible measles exposure after an infected person from the Upstate visited the SC State Museum in Columbia on Friday, Jan 9. On Wednesday, Jan. 14, public health officials provided more information about that announcement . Dr. Linda Bell emphasized that while someone with the measles was in Columbia there have been no confirmed cases of the illness in the Midlands area. With that said, officials say close to one thousand people visited the museum that day, and were at risk of possible exposure. Dr. Bell stressed that the best way to prevent the spread of the measles is to get the measles vaccine which is 97% effective.
