Open Thread: OKC mocks the Spurs postgame ritual
Jan 14, 2026
The Spurs are the only team to beat the Oklahoma City Thunder three times this season. Heading into last night’s game, the Thunder had a lot to prove and a lot riding on winning this game. They pulled out all the stops including starting the game by mocking the Spurs post game cheer.

The taunting didn’t end there as both teams came out swinging.
Wemby played with an agenda, going at Chet Holmgren each time he had the ball. No move on Holmgren looked better than the corner rejections by Wembanyama.

The taunting was rampant on both sides. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander made a move to trip Victor Wembanyama.

It wasn’t the only time the Thunder were overly aggressive with the Spurs big man. Victor his the hardwood multiple times throughout the game.
Eventually, Steph Castle had enough and gave SGA a shove, picking a technical up himself.
It didn’t go way the Spurs had hoped, but as it stands, San Antonio will probably be the only team to win a season series against the reigning champs.
