A key contributor for the Golden State Warriors this season has been guard Pat Spencer. Spencer is known in the lacrosse community as one of the best college players in the sport. But he gave up lacrosse and spent a year on the Northwestern University basketball team to chase his hoop dreams. He went undrafted in the NBA, but he has found a place with the Warriors. He’s a fan favorite and team favorite, doing whatever is asked of him when his number is called. Spencer is on a two-way contract, meaning he doesn’t have a guaranteed roster spot and isn’t in the game rotation every night. Warriors head coach Steve Kerr said Spencer brings a competitive spirit, vibe and energy to the court and locker room. NBC Bay Area’s Raj Mathai recently sat down with Spencer.
