GETTYSBURG, S.D. – The Mobridge-Pollock Tigers took down Gettysburg 62-51 Monday night getting a big bounce back win. This game was back and forth the entire game with the Battlers and Tigers trading leads up until the fourth quarter when Mobridge-Pollock finally pulled away as the Tigers advanced to 5-3 on the season. There were some big performances in this game from many different Tigers. Late at the free throw line Kyson Good Shield was knocking down every free throw. Shooter Frederick had a double-double and put in two big back to back threes late to take the lead. Jesse Schneider continued to heat up on his season from all over the court last night as well. In the end though this has been long awaited, from his time making big plays on the football field in the fall, to what he’s been able to contribute during this season including two big assists at the end of this game to get some of his teammates wide open looks from three, Easton Eisemann was the Riverside Home Furnishing Player of the Game in this win.  This game got started quickly with Gettysburg taking an 8-3 lead after about 90 seconds of game time before both teams went cold, not scoring again for about five minutes of game time. After one quarter Gettysburg owned the one point lead but the Tigers stole momentum in the second quarter taking a lead of their own into halftime. Coming out of halftime Gettysburg stuck around chipping away at the Tiger lead swinging momentum back their way, but in the fourth quarter Mobridge-Pollock was able to fight through the emotions of this rivalry game to build a double digit lead. The Tigers made their free throws at the end of the game to ice it as they walked away with the 62-51 win. In their next time out Mobridge-Pollock will return home to take on Crow Creek Thursday, January 15 with tipoff for game one of the double header scheduled around 6:30 p.m. ...read more read less
