Beloved Houston pizza chain to make San Antonio debut on North Side

popping up on the North Side. A rep at the corporate office confirmed Pepperoni’s upcoming debut, but did not have a firm opening date. According to Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation paperwork filed in 2024, the buildout was initially targeted for completion in December 2025. While that estimate was missed, the opening appears to be days away, with job postings appearing on sites like ZipRecruiter.Houston restaurateur Ray Salti opened the first Pepperoni’s in 1990. Although the chain has the same delivery and pick-up model as national giants like Domino’s and Pizza Hut, it is known for its higher quality ingredients, using never-bleached flour and premium DiNapoli brand tomatoes.The New York-style pies are available with familiar toppings like pepperoni (naturally), Canadian bacon, and a wide assortment of vegetables. The pizzas can also be built with less expected ingredients like Jamaican jerk or Korean barbecue sauce, feta, sun-dried tomatoes, and anchovies.
