(KRON) -- Police in Fremont are investigating a “particularly unusual situation” where several dogs have been recently found with no identification in different areas of the city, authorities said Saturday. Officers believe that the dogs may be coming from the same person. The five dogs were de scribed by the Fremont Police Department as being in unkempt condition are of similar breeds. They are estimated to be around 4 years old. In the span of three days, two of the dogs were recovered near Quarry Lakes, one was found under a vehicle on North Grimmer and two others were recovered at Irvington Park. A sixth dog spotted near Quarry Lake is still at-large, police said Saturday, and authorities are making efforts to locate it. “The animals are currently safe and are receiving appropriate care and medical attention,” Fremont PD said.
