Golden Globes 2026: Seth Rogen and Jean Smart win best actor in TV comedies

Jean Smart won the Golden Globe for best performance by a female actor in a TV series – comedy or musical for “Hacks,” while Seth Rogen earned his first Globe on the male side of the same category for “The Studio.”
“What can I say, I’m a greedy (bleep),” Smart joked as she reached th
e stage to accept her third Golden Globe, all of them for her portrayal of the wise-cracking comedian Deborah Vance in “Hacks.”
“This is so weird,” Rogen said before noting how “The Studio” had filmed a Golden Globes-set episode in its first season. “We just pretended to do this. And now it’s happening. I thought the only way to hold one was to create a show to give myself a fake one.”
Sixteen-year-old Owen Cooper took the Golden Globe for best performance by a male actor in a supporting role on television for his work as a troubled British teen in the limited series “Adolescence.”
“Oh, wow. Standing here with a, wow, Golden Globe does not feel real whatsoever,” Cooper said with the kind of awe that befits his age.
Noting that he’d only started taking acting classes shortly before he was cast in the Netflix series. “I was the only boy there,” Cooper said. “It was embarrassing, but I got through it.
“But I’m still very much an apprentice. I’m still learning every day. I’m still learning from the people who stand in front of me.”
Noah Wyle won the Golden Globe for best performance by a male actor in a television series – drama for his work in the HBO hospital series “The Pitt.”
“What a truly humbling moment this is,” Wyle said. “My goodness, I’m so incredibly grateful. I’m indebted to so many people. I’ve been inspired by so many people.”
