RICHMOND, Va (WRIC) -- After a soaker of a day on Saturday, which we desperately needed across Central Virginia, we are experiencing dropping temperatures and windy conditions on this Sunday. Details below. Tonight’s forecast for this Sunday night into Monday morning, calls for clear skies overni ght, winds diminishing and colder temperatures as we get down into the upper 20s to around 30 degrees in Metro Richmond, which means areas outside of the Metro will fall into the middle 20s by Monday morning. Tomorrow’s forecast for our Monday calls for mostly sunny skies, less windy conditions compared to our Sunday, and seasonable temperatures as we rise into the upper 40s to around 50 degrees in Metro Richmond. Tuesday and Wednesday will both be decent weather days, with a slow moderation in temperatures, back into the 50s on these afternoons with partly sunny to mostly cloudy skies. Thursday, I put “watching” because we are closely monitoring for the possibility of a wintry mix happening across the viewing area, as our next weather system takes shape in a few days. Things will change between now and then, so check back for updates both on air and online. Outside of that, Thursday will be a mostly cloudy day, with temperatures in the 40s. Friday will be a very chilly day, under partly sunny skies, and highs 35 to 40 degrees. Saturday looks like a seasonable day, under partly sunny skies, and highs 45 to 50 degrees. Sunday, I put “watching” because I’m seeing another possibility for a wintry mix by then, but this is several days away, and again things will change between now and then, so it’s important to check back for updates both on air and online. Outside of that, Sunday will be a very chilly day, under partly sunny skies, and highs 35 to 40 degrees. Finally, the following Monday, is MLK JR Day, and it’ll be a partly sunny day with very chilly temperatures, with highs around 40 degrees. ...read more read less
