It took Garrett Bolles 133 NFL regular-season games to receive the honor he earned Saturday. It took Devon Key only 34 games. Nevertheless, both were among the four Broncos players named first-team All-Pro by The Associated Press. After going 14-3 during the regular season, the Broncos had Bol les at left tackle, Quinn Meinerz at right guard, Zach Allen at interior defensive lineman and Key as a special teamer named to the first team of the NFL’s official All-Pro team. Named to the second team were cornerback Pat Surtain II and safety Talanoa Hufanga. Bolles is Denver’s longest-tenured player, having joined the team in 2017. He earned second-team All-Pro honors in 2020 but made the first team for the first time in his nine-year career. “He’s obviously a fantastic player,’’ Broncos right tackle Mike McGlinchey said of Bolles’ season. “I think the film speaks for itself.” Key was undrafted in 2021 out of Western Kentucky and spent time on practice squads in his first three NFL seasons, including with Denver in 2022 and 2023. He got into his first regular-season game with the Broncos in 2024. He only has started two games in the past two seasons, both in 2024, but has developed into a special teams ace. (The Gazette, Christian Murdock) “He’s had more special-teams tackles (in a season) than anyone in the history of the Broncos,’’ said Denver coach Sean Payton, referring to the 26 Keys had in 2025. “Every week we give awards (and) his name comes up for (special teams).” Meinerz, in his fifth season, made first-team All-Pro for the second straight year. He was rated by Pro Football Focus as the NFL’s top guard in 2025. Allen, in his seventh year, was named to the first team for the first time in his career after getting second-team honors last season. He led the NFL with 47 quarterback hits while also having seven sacks. Surtain, in his fifth season, was named first-team All-Pro in 2022 and 2024 and was the NFL’s Defensive Player of the Year in 2024. However, he missed three games midway through 2025 with a pectoral injury, which perhaps kept him from again being named to the first team. “It was pretty good,’’ Surtain said Friday in assessing his season. “Obviously, I haven’t been down for that amount of time (before). You know, I was out for some games. But I feel like, when I got back in, I didn’t lose a step that much. Obviously, there were some mishaps here and there. But that happens. It’s football. But I feel like I got back out there playing my style of game, playing to my standard.” Denver Broncos cornerback Pat Surtain II celebrates after their win over the Kansas City Chiefs in an NFL football game, Thursday, Dec. 25, 2025 in Kansas City, Mo. (AP Photo/Reed Hoffmann) Hufanga, in his fifth NFL season and first with the Broncos, made the second team after having been a first-team selection with San Francisco in 2022. Hufanga, who also made the Pro Bowl in 2022, was not selected for the Pro Bowl this season. He told The Denver Gazette earlier this month he was not deserving of that honor due to having no interceptions. “I can’t say that I was snubbed,’’ Hufanga had said. “I’ve been a Pro Bowler before and I made plays on the ball. This year, I did not.” Perhaps Denver’s biggest All-Pro snub was edge rusher Nik Bonitto, who led the team with 14.0 sacks. Bonitto, who was named to the second team in 2024, missed by one point again being on the second team. A 50-member panel votes for All-Pro, with players getting three points for a first-team nod and one point for a second-team vote. Bonitto received 11 first-place votes and 54 total points. He had three more first-place votes than Aidan Hutchinson’s eight but the Detroit stalwart got the final second-team nod with 55 total points. The Broncos’ four first-team selections were the most of any team in the NFL and tied for the most in a season in team history. Their six overall selections tied for the second most in team history. A total of 14 Denver players received at least one point in the voting. In addition to the six players honored and Bonitto, also getting votes were McGlinchey, punt returner Marvin Mims Jr., slot cornerback Ja’Quan McMillian, wide receiver Courtland Sutton, fullback Adam Prentice, long snapper Mitch Fraboni and left guard Alex Palczewski. Palczewski, who got one second-place vote for one point, started 10 games, eight when regular starter Ben Powers was out with a biceps injury and two when Powers was rotated in before reclaiming his starting job. ...read more read less
