Mason County Animal Shelter is asking for the public’s help identifying dog
Jan 09, 2026
MAYSVILLE, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) — The Mason County Animal Shelter is asking for the public’s help identifying a dog that has been seen lingering at the Maysville Cemetery for several days.
According to shelter officials, the dog has been staying near the same grave and has been returning to
it repeatedly. An animal control officer has been visiting the area, feeding the dog and working to safely capture it.
The gravestone the dog appears to be returning to is marked for Kenneth Bramel, who was born in 1945 and died in 2025.
Shelter staff say they’re hoping someone may recognize the dog or know where it came from, so they can help reunite it with family or make sure it gets the care it needs.
Anyone with information about the dog is asked to contact the Mason County Animal Shelter.
