T.J. Maxx, Marshalls recall thousands of chargers, warning they could ‘explode'
Jan 08, 2026
Thousands of chargers sold at T.J. Maxx and Marshall stores across the country are being recalled because they could “explode while in use,” the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission says.
The magnetic wireless chargers, sold under the Isla Rae brand, were on shelves at T.J. Maxx and Marsha
lls stores nationwide between June 2024 and Nov. 2025. The slim products, which are shown resting atop an iPhone, sold for $15 each, the CPSC said, and come in purple, white and pink, with the model number “RM5PBM.”
According to officials, the chargers, which could explode while in use, pose a fire and burn hazard.
Customers are urged to “immediately” stop using the product, and register it for a refund. It should not be thrown in the household trash, the CPSC said, and instead be placed in specific lithium-ion battery recycling boxes outside home improvement stores.
The chargers were recalled Jan. 8, the commission said. Approximately 13,200 chargers were sold.
