The warning period is over for drivers who violate red light cameras on Kelly Drive at Eakins Oval, right in front of the Philadelphia Museum of Art. And, starting today, anyone who ignores the red light in front of the famous “Rocky Steps” will be hit with a $100 fine. Last year, PPA of ficials announced the 60-day warning period and noted that red light cameras, like the ones now active on Kelly Drive in front of the Philadelphia Museum of Art, have led to a 58% reduction in the occurrences of drivers running red lights in the city. The newly active red light cameras, the PPA said in a statement, are just a few of the 146 red light cameras now in place at 34 intersections throughout the city. PPA officials have said these red lights generated over $23 million in 2024 for the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation’s Transportation Enhancements Grant Program.
