A man was sentenced to up to 12 years in prison after he pleaded guilty to sexually assaulting his girlfriend’s teenaged daughter for over a year, according to the Bucks County District Attorney’s Office. The investigation began on Sept. 19, 2024, when it was reported to the Quakertown Borou gh Police Department that Rodney Bass, 36 of Philadelphia, was accused of sexual assault, officials said. Law enforcement discovered that Bass was assaulting a 14-year-old girl who was his girlfriend’s daughter, police explained. The assault lasted for more than one year, according to police. While she was being interviewed by authorities, the teen girl told them about several instances where she had sexual contact with Bass, officials said. Resources for victims of sexual assault are available through the National Sexual Violence Resources Center and the National Sexual Assault Telephone Hotline at 800-656-4673. Bass pleaded guilty in September to charges including involuntary deviate sexual intercourse with a person less than 16. He was sentenced on Jan. 6 to serve six to 12 years in state prison followed by 28 years of probation and he will need to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life. ...read more read less
