On Wednesday at 8:39 a.m. the National Weather Service issued an updated special weather statement until 10 a.m. for Northern Westchester, Southern Westchester, Richmond (Staten Is.), Kings (Brooklyn), Northwest Suffolk, Northeast Suffolk, Southwest Suffolk, Southeast Suffolk, Northern Queens, North ern Nassau, Southern Queens and Southern Nassau as well as Rockland, New York (Manhattan) and Bronx counties."Fog will impact this morning's commute as the visibility will be reduced to around a half of a mile in several areas. The fog may become locally dense with the visibility down to a quarter of a mile or less. The low visibility could make driving conditions hazardous.
