U.S. soldier accused of biting, hitting Doylestown police officer during fight

An active army platoon leader in the U.S. Army has been arrested and charged after allegedly assaulting a police officer in Doylestown, Pennsylvania.

ylestown Borough after receiving a report about a fight between two men.
When officers got to the scene, one officer attempted to break up the fight and separate the individuals, while another officer forced an unidentified man away to the corner of the building.
Police said that an investigation revealed that Thomas Angel Rowe, 21, of Doylestown, had attacked an officer from behind, striking him in the head. The officer grabbed Rowe by the waist and both of them went to the ground.
Rowe ignored the officer’s command to stop fighting and punched the officer several times in the head, slamming the officer’s head onto the icy pavement, according to police. Rowe continued fighting and bit the officer on the arm.
According to police, the crowd yelled at Rowe that he was fighting a cop and to stop. Other bystanders recorded the attack on their cell phones.
Police said when other officers got to the scene, Rowe resisted arrest and ignored commands.
Rowe was eventually taken into custody and identified as an active platoon leader in the U.S. Army, police shared. He was arraigned, bail was set at 10% of $75,000, and he was remanded to Bucks County Prison.
Rowe has been charged with aggravated assault, simple assault, resisting arrest, and other related charges.
Police said another individual involved was cited for summary offenses and released.
