(KRON) — A convicted felon was allegedly found in possession of a makeshift gun at the Martin Luther King Jr. Regional Shoreline in Oakland Tuesday.

Officers with the East Bay Regional Park District Police Department stopped the suspect for curfew vio
lation when they noticed a suspicious object in his waistband.
“The item was later confirmed to be an illegally manufactured ‘zip gun,’” the East Bay Regional Park District Police Department said.

The man was also allegedly found in possession of “Improvised Munitions Black Book” — a guide for making improvised weapons.
The man was arrested and booked into the Santa Rita Jail for multiple felony weapons charges.
