(Photo by Jeff Motz/KFOR News)LINCOLN–(KFOR Jan. 1)–Lincoln Firefighters started the new year on Thursday with a late morning garage fire in the area of 31st and Potter. According to LFR public information officer MJ Lierman, water was on the fire within six minutes of arrival.  The garage, whi ch suffered significant fire damage recently, caught fire again on Thursday due to illegal fireworks from New Year’s.  The roof of the remnants caught fire after a New Year’s firework landed on the roof and smoldered before igniting. The detached garage is about 20 feet away from any other structure.  No reports of any injuries and because of previous significant fire damage, no estimate was given by the fire inspector from Thursday’s blaze.    ...read more read less
