People can discover how to transform scattered boxes filled with old photos, slides and film into an organized digital collection that future generations can enjoy during a free pair of programs this January at Mentor Public Library. Forever Ambassador Kari Shick will lead both classes, according to a news release. The first session explains options for digitizing older forms of media, including print, slides and film. It’s 1 to 4 p.m. on Jan. 24, at the library’s Main Branch, 8215 Mentor Ave. The second class demonstrates how to organize these digital photo files. That includes adding details so the files are easy to search and creating a long-term storage plan that works for the family. This session will be 1 to 4 p.m. Jan. 31, also at the Main Branch. It’s recommended that participants attend both sessions. They are free, but due to limited space, registration is required.
