JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ) Jefferson City firefighters responded to a house fire in the 1000 block of Rock Hill Road on Thursday evening, and said the building suffered mild fire damage. The fire happened shortly before 8:30 p.m. Crews arrived and found the fire in the attic. In addition to f ire damage, the home suffered moderate smoke and water damage, according to the Jefferson City Fire Department. The cause is under investigation, but the department said it appears to be accidental. The fire displaced one adult and two dogs; they're getting help from the American Red Cross, according to a news release.
