After two seasons at Colorado, DJ McKinney is moving on. On Thursday, it was announced that the Buffaloes’ starting cornerback is planning to enter the transfer portal when it opens on Friday. Defensive end Nikhil Webb Walker also announced his intentions to enter the portal. In his time at CU, McKinney recorded 97 tackles, 14 pass breakups, four interceptions, four tackles for loss and one fumble recovery. McKinney came to CU after two seasons at Oklahoma State. He redshirted in 2022 and played 14 games as a reserve for the Cowboys in 2023. He will have one season of eligibility remaining. Webb Walker, who began his career with two seasons at New Mexico State, spent two years at CU. He played primarily on special teams for the first five games of 2024 and then missed the last eight after being diagnosed with lymphoma. Healthy again this year, he played in six games, recording three tackles. He will have one seasons of eligibility remaining. With the portal set to open on Friday, 25 scholarship Buffs have already announced their intentions to transfer.
