(KRON) -- A two-vehicle collision was reported at an unoccupied building in San Mateo on New Year's Day, according to the San Mateo Police Department. The crash occurred around 3:10 p.m. when a vehicle crashed into the now-closed Jennifer Convertibles store. Each vehicle had one occupant inside, p olice said. One of them was hospitalized for an unknown reason. Police could not confirm whether it was due to injury from the crash or a separate medical issue. "Wet roadways reduce traction, increase stopping distances, and make it harder to react to sudden hazards. We urge drivers to slow down, increase following distance, use headlights when appropriate, and remain fully attentive behind the wheel," SMPD wrote on social media.
