Rose Bowl onfield pregame festivities canceled due to weather

PASADENA, Calif. (WISH) — The Rose Bowl will feel a bit different this season, especially before the game.
The Rose Bowl announced that “all on-field pre-game activities” prior to the coin flip on Thursday “have been canceled due to the continuing rain in Southern California.”

he statement went on to say that “player safety and overall field conditions remain our top priority.”
No. 1 Indiana (13-0) is taking on No. 9 Alabama (11-3) in the matchup. Kickoff remains set for 4 p.m. EDT on Thursday.
In addition, the following are adjustments that have been made to the schedule, per the Rose Bowl:
No on-field dignitary walk by the Tournament of Roses President and family, the Rose Parade Grand Marshal, and the Rose Queen and Court. They will be on the southwest sideline only.
Both university bands will perform their pre-game show from the stands, including the Indiana University Marching Hundred performing the Star-Spangled Banner.
The flyover by the B-2 Stealth Bomber may be delayed to the start of the third quarter.
WISH-TV Sports Director Anthony Calhoun is in Pasadena, Calif. with the Hoosiers and will have live coverage on News 8 at 10 and 11 p.m. EDT.
