WOLCOTT, Ind. (WISH) — A passenger in a truck died in an early morning crash on I-65 in rural White County, Indiana State Police said in a news release issued Wednesday night. The White County coroner will later share the name of the person who died in the crash just after 12:30 a.m. Wednes day, the release said. Investigators think the driver of a southbound 2002 Chevrolet Avalanche lost control of the truck while in the left lane, and went off the west side of the road before hitting a guardrail and overturning. It happened near the White County border with Benton and Jasper counties, about 3 miles southeast of the U.S. 24 and U.S. 231 interchange for Wolcott and Remington. The release did not say who was driving the vehicle or how many people were in it, but said “the remaining occupants” were taken to Lafayette area hospitals with injuries not believed to be life-threatening. ...read more read less
