A fire in Oakley on Monday night spread to the roof of a building and spurred an emergency response from four local fire departments. The South Summit Fire District was notified around 8 p.m. of a structure fire in Oakley. It was classified as a “working incident,” and the Wasatch Fire Distr ict responded to assist. The Wasatch Fire District said in a social media post that the fire was quickly knocked down in the interior of the building, but it had already spread to the roof and attic. “This was particularly challenging due to the high vaulted ceiling, as well as the roof being a corrugated metal,” the department said. “It had snowed recently, which made the roof a slip hazard, as it was also steep.” The Park City Fire District and North Summit Fire District were then contacted as additional assistance to help access the roof. Ultimately, firefighters were able to get the blaze under control. The cause is still under investigation.
