ABERDEEN, S.D. – The Mobridge-Pollock Lady Tigers took their first loss of the season against the Hamlin Chargers Tuesday night 51-47 in a state championship rematch from last March. In their first game back from winter break at the Northern State University showcase the Lady Tigers trailed by as much as nine two separate times in the second half, but came all the way back tying it at 45 before Hamlin was able to pull away with the win knocking the Lady Tiger to 3-1 on their season. Both teams had many quality performances in this game but the Northern State commit Addison Neuendorf completely took over on the score sheet contributing 25 points to the winning effort for the Hamlin Chargers making her our Riverside Home Furnishing Player of the Game. For the Lady Tigers Faith Heil and Brooke Bain shined down low especially in the second half comeback helping to tie the game up late but defensively the entire Charger team made life difficult for any guard on the court for Mobridge-Pollock. The first quarter of this game got started quickly with both teams getting a lot of shots off but good defense kept this one low scoring through the first half. Hamlin showed some excellent perimeter defense as they began to build a lead topped off with a buzzer beater 3-pointer from Addison Neuendorf to take a nine point halftime lead. Coming out of halftime the Lady Tiger kept themselves in it and took the momentum back at the end of the third quarter with a long buzzer beater 3-pointer from Brooke Bain to cut into the Hamlin lead. Mobridge-Pollock went on to tie the game at 45 before Hamlin locked down on defense and Addison Neuendorf in the last minutes was automatic, making her free throws as the Charger handed the Lady Tigers their first loss of the season winning 51-47.
