Nebraska Regent announces resignation following DUI crash

ha state senator Kathleen Kauth had announced her intent to impeach O’Connor after O’Connor had been charged with one count of DUI causing serious bodily injury in a crash in May in Omaha in which she struck another vehicle head-on and her blood alcohol content was found to be four times the legal limit.
That crash left a passenger in the other vehicle with serious injuries including a broken back and broken pelvis.
Gov. Jim Pillen will appoint someone to fill the vacancy until District 4 residents vote to determine their next regent in the November general election.
