Winterlike weather persists through the end of 2025
Dec 31, 2025
A breezy New Year’s Eve brings cold wind chills
Temperatures to start our Wednesday are in the upper 20s and low 30s. Winds will be breezy through the afternoon, gusting around 20-25 mph out of the west. This causes feel-like temperatures to be consistently 10 degrees below our actual air tempe
rature. So the morning feels like the teens, and the afternoon will feel like the upper 20s.
We’ll be cloudy with a few flakes falling in the morning, clearing slightly through the afternoon. By this evening, thick cloud cover will move in as a cold front moves through. This will bring a chance for some snow overnight. That means that by midnight, as we’re welcoming in the new year, we will see a few scattered snow showers.
Snow to start the New Year
A few light bands of snowfall may linger into early Thursday morning. Grounds should be warm enough following Wednesday afternoon that we won’t see much in terms of accumulations. Mainly, we could see a few tenths of an inch on grassy surfaces, but most roadways will stay clear. A few slick spots may be present on bridges and overpasses, so exercise caution, especially if you are heading home from NYE celebrations late at night/early in the morning. Still, no major travel impacts are expected at this time.
The rest of Thursday will be dry and cool, with temperatures in the low-mid 30s.
Mostly calm to kick off the first weekend of 2026
Besides a small chance for an isolated shower or two on Saturday, we’re trending calm through the rest of the week and the weekend. Temperatures will return to the 40s. We appear to be entering a calmer weather pattern as we head into the first full week of 2026.
