INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — A man was critically injured in a shooting in the Camby area on the city’s southwest side Tuesday, according to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department. At 10:35 p.m. Tuesday, IMPD Southwest District officers responded to a report of a person shot in the 8400 block of Abbey Dell Drive. That is a residential area in Camby on the city’s southwest side. Officers arrived and found a man suffering from gunshot wounds. Decatur medics arrived on scene and transported the man to an area hospital in critical condition. Officers detained one person for questioning. IMPD said in a Wednesday morning update that a man was in custody for the shooting. Police did not provide the man’s name or say how he knew the victim. No additional information has been released at this time and a booking photo was not immediately available.
