A teenager from Waterbury, CT was killed, and another was injured after a shooting in The Bronx on Saturday night. At around 6:30 p.m., the NYPD responded to a call of shots fired inside a New York City Housing Authority building on Adee Avenue in the Allerton neighborhood. Officers found a 15 -year-old boy with a gunshot wound to the chest and a 14-year-old boy with a gunshot wound to his left arm. Emergency crews transported the 15-year-old to the hospital where he was later pronounced dead. Police have identified the teen who died as Eric Aitken. “On behalf of the entire Waterbury community, I extend my deepest condolences to Eric’s family, loved ones, classmates, teachers, and all those who knew and cared for him. The loss of a young life, especially one filled with promise, is devastating beyond words, and our thoughts and prayers are with his family as they endure this unimaginable pain,” said Waterbury Mayor Paul Pernerewski in a press release. The 14-year-old male is recovering. No arrests have been made. The Waterbury school district will provide counseling and support services to students and staff who are grieving.
