HS Boys Basketball Wrap: Lawrence, Trenton win at Score at the Shore

MANAHAWKIN — A weekend after the CVC was embarrassed in the CVC-Shore Challenge, the league looked much better this weekend when Trenton and Lawrence both won quarterfinal round games on Saturday at the Score at the Shore at Southern Regional.

Several games this weekend were postponed due to the ice storm that hit Friday into Saturday.
Ewing and Thrive Charter were both in action on Sunday in the ESCIT at the Iron Palace.
Monday brings a full slate of holiday tournaments. Nottingham, Robbinsville and West Windsor South are all hosting multi-team events this week.
Lawrence 39, Holy Spirit 36
Marvin McNeil scored 12 points, Daniel Lafontant added 10 and the Cardinals (3-3) held off Holy Spirit (1-3) in a quarterfinal game. Lawrence faces host Southern in Monday’s semifinal round.
Trenton 68, Seneca 39
Aivaye Ingram continued his strong start to the season with 23 points and the Tornadoes (3-1) blew past the Golden Eagles (2-3) in the quarterfinals. Jaydon Fulton-English added 18 points and Juan Sanchez tallied 11 for Trenton, which plays in the semifinals on Monday against Lenape.

Shawnee 46, Notre Dame 43
HADDONFIELD — Jake Jones tallied 16 points, Tyler Nickles added 12 and the Renegades (2-2) erased a 12-point halftime deficit to rally past the Irish (2-4). Will Foley led ND with 18 points and Colin Cunningham added 12.
Jaguar Holiday Tournament
South Plainfield 67, Hopewell Valley 54
SOUTH PLAINFIELD — Andrew Bena went off for 32 points and the host Jaguars (4-1) haded the Bulldogs (3-1) their first loss thanks to a 21-11 third quarter run. Ty Becker paced Hopewell with 15 points and Kyle Yadamiec added 10.
