Stormrelated incident leaves thousands without power in San Francisco

Over 6,000 people were without power in San Francisco after Pacific Gas and Electric reported a storm-related incident on Saturday morning.
The neighborhoods of Sunset and Richmond were the most affected, following an initial report at 11:08 a.m. of the outage. As of Saturday afternoon, the PGE p
ower outage center reported around 5,272 customers were still without power.
PGE said the estimated restoration time will be 3:45 p.m. as soon as crews arrive and make repairs.
This follows a series of winter weather-related outages that have been affecting thousands of people across the Bay Area. PGE said high winds could disturb power lines and cause power distribution issues.
Over the Christmas week celebrations, thousands in San Francisco were in the dark following a fire at a substation and storm-related outages.
Mayor Daniel Lurie is joined by a list of other public officials calling for PGE to cut rates and ensure such outages do not occur again.
District 4 Supervisor Alan Wong, who represents the neighborhoods affected and was appointed at the start of the month by Lurie, has continuously been adamantly calling for hearings from PGE about the outages.
