Luca Del Bel Belluz scored on a breakaway 1 minute, 19 seconds into overtime, giving the Monsters a 4-3 victory over host Rochester on Dec. 27. It was Del Bel Belluz’s sixth goal of the season, and it lifted Cleveland (13-10-3-1) to victory after erasing a 2-0 deficit. The Americans scored twice i n the first 10 minutes of the game. The Monsters answered in the second period with goals by Hunter McKown and Luca Pinelli (power play) to tie the game at 2-2. Pinelli has a team-best nine goals and 20 points. Rochester regained the lead at 3-2 with 1:14 remaining in the second period, then Justin Pearson tied it back up for the Monsters midway through the third period. Cleveland goalie Ivan Fedotov saved 23 of the 26 shots he faced.
