INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — We’ve been enjoying a mild early April-like day here on the final Friday of 2025!
However, we are about to pay a heavy price for these fantastic temperatures. We’re tracking a stronger system into Sun
day with a big temperature fall out by Monday.
Friday night: Cloudy with patchy fog potential. Lows in the low 40s.
Saturday: Cooler, but still well above normal, for Saturday under mainly cloudy skies. A few peeks of sunshine may occur, but we are not super optimistic about that. Highs in the mid 50s.
By Saturday night, the influence of our next system begins its mark with some showers sliding in.
Sunday: Showers and a few storms, especially late in the day, will carry over into Sunday. Before a strong cold front sweeps through, we will have record high potential on our hands with numbers in the mid to upper 60s. Indy’s record on Sunday, Dec 28th, is 65 from 1984. It will also be quite breezy throughout the day as well.
There is also a low-end risk for isolated strong to severe storms late Sunday. Damaging wind is the primary threat, but there is a non-zero very low tornado threat.
7-Day Forecast: Heading into early Monday morning, we could see a brief switchover to some snow. This could lay down a coating on the ground, and with the expectation of a big temperature drop, we’ll have to be weary of slick spots come the Monday morning commute. Matter of fact, be sure to have your winter gear on hand into 2026 as it will be very cold out for us. Highs will range from the upper 20s to upper 30s Monday to Wednesday (New Year’s Eve). Wind chill values at times Monday into Tuesday could be in the single digits.
