Christmas won’t be white in southeastern Pennsylvania this year, but a dose of winter weather is expected to follow closely behind. The region is slated to see a winter storm with a mix of snow and ice arrive Friday afternoon. Precipitation will continue into Saturday morning, according to forecas ters. The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm watch for the region, saying snow and sleet accumulations could be between 3 and 5 inches. The watch says hazardous travel conditions are likely and could impact commutes on Friday morning and evening. Accuweath.com says the Reading area will get 2 to 4 four inches of snow, along with a quarter-inch to half-inch of ice. The snow is set to arrive around 3 p.m. Friday and end around 5 a.m. Saturday. Ice is expected between 3 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. Saturday. Temperatures will range from 25 degrees to 31 degrees during the storm. The forecast for Montgomery County also calls for 2 to 4 inches of snow, along with a quarter-inch to half-inch of ice. The snow is set to arrive around 11 a.m. Friday and end around 7 a.m. Saturday. Ice is expected between 11 a.m. Friday and 9 a.m. Saturday. The forecast for Chester and Delaware counties calls for 1 to 3 inches of snow and a quarter-inch to half-inch of ice. In Delaware, the snow is expected to fall between 3 p.m. Friday and 11 a.m. Saturday. Ice is expected between 3 p.m. Friday and 5 a.m. Saturday.
