Baltimore Fishbowl’s Top 10 MostRead Stories of 2025
Dec 24, 2025
Believe it or not, another year has passed, and Baltimore Fishbowl has compiled our annual list of the 10 most-read stories by you, our fantastic readers!
Nature was on your mind as stories about farmers markets and the Chesapeake Bay made the cut. True to form, our versatile readers also ca
red about culture, given that movie and vacation stories caught many eyes as well. Political stories drew lots of interest, of course. Given the story read by more readers than any other, however, apparently our readership is filled with NAUGHTY MINDS (which, of course, is why we love you). Please enjoy this recap.
10. “Joining nationwide protests, ‘Hands Off!’ rallies to take place across Maryland on Saturday”

Three months of President Donald Trump’s second administration and “DOGE” had many readers turning to this article to learn about the upcoming nationwide “Hands Off” rallies that would take place on April 5, with at least 17 planned for around Maryland. Numbers of attendees far exceeded expectations at each of the individual locations as people demanded Trump keep his “hands off” everything from immigrants to transgender kids’ rights to Social Security and more.
9. “Monday is moving day for T. Rowe Price Group“

Almost exactly three years after executives broke ground for their new global headquarters at Harbor Point, T. Rowe Price moved into its new building in March 2025. The nine-level, 550,000-square-foot structure should house more than 1,700 employees. The company has been in Baltimore since 1937 and has a history of commitment to and connection with the Baltimore community.
8. “A Charm City Christmas: Local star brings next big holiday movie to Baltimore in ‘The Baltimorons’”

It comes as no surprise that Baltimore Fishbowl readers loved this feature on the indie film, “The Baltimorons” given the movie’s hometown-heavy pedigree and focus. Michael Strassner and Jay Duplass co-wrote and filmed the movie entirely in Baltimore. Filmed all over the city, the sweet story is not just about love, it’s a love letter to Baltimore in all its weirdo charm.
7. “Dan Rodricks: Audiences will see our lost bridge in ‘The Baltimorons’”

One Baltimore legend writes about another, when columnist Dan Rodricks focuses on the appearance of the Francis Scott Key Bridge in both the movie poster and a pivotal scene in “The Baltimorons.” Rodricks speaks to a producer involved with shooting the scene, filmed just a few months before the bridge was struck by the Dali, a massive container ship, causing the bridge’s collapse. The movie scene is likely the last nighttime movie scene filmed of the bridge.
6. “Second ‘No Kings’ rallies on Saturday expected to be even larger than in June”

Baltimore continued its participation in the nationwide protests of Trump’s administration. Enough of our readers wanted information on how to participate in October’s “No Kings” rally that it comes in at No. 6 on our most-read list for 2025. April had 17 Hands Off rallies planned across Maryland. By October’s “No Kings” rally, there were 17 demonstrations planned for the Baltimore area alone.
5. “Bygone Maryland Vacation Resorts”

Readers loved Fred Rasmussen taking us down memory lane, and into the history books, with this look back at the old Deer Park Hotel in Western Maryland. Rasmussen’s story looks back to a time when Garrett County was the “Summer Capital” of the United States.
4. “Baltimore’s newest waterfront park will open May 1”

In May, a ribbon-cutting ceremony was held for Point Park, a 4.5-acre public space just west of the T. Rowe Price headquarters, a place with breathtaking views of the city’s harbor and Baltimore’s skyline. Point Park is part of Harbor Point, a 27-acre mixed-use community between Harbor East and Fells Point.
3. “Scientists find invasive northern snakehead negatively impact other fish in part of Chesapeake Bay”

One of our first big Chesapeake Bay stories of the year, this report by managing editor Marcus Dieterle on the invasive northern snakehead (Chesapeake Channa) fish’s increasing population and its negative impact on native species, truly reeled readers in. The state recommended sportfishing the fish to help control the population.
2. “2025 Baltimore County Farmers Market cancelled”

We have a reputation as a tough town with grit, but we also have a soft spot for our farmers and makers. The Baltimore County Farmers Market was cancelled, and enough of our readers wanted to know about it that this story by Dieterle takes the number 2 spot on this year’s most-read list. The market held at the Timonium Fairgrounds had run for 14 summers, and plans for 2026 were uncertain.
In 2025 our readers cared about culture, history, the environment, politics, but the story that caught the attention of more readers than any other? Here it is!
1. “Chesapeake Baysox alternate logo leads to powerful climax”

More readers read this story about the hilarious graphic design misstep by the Chesapeake Baysox/Oyster Catchers than any other story at Baltimore Fishbowl in 2025. Let’s celebrate never losing our adolescent sense of humor and the Double A affiliate’s ability to turn a marketing disaster into a fundraiser for a local cervical cancer nonprofit. Hey, this Baltimore Fishbowl story merited a 3-minute segment on HBO’s “Have I Got News For You“, hosted by the incredible Roy Wood, Jr.
