(KRON) — Bay Area residents who need to get some last-minute shopping done on Christmas Eve or Christmas morning will encounter some limited options. Most major retailers and grocery chains across California will have adjusted operating hours on Wednesday, Dec. 24. Most businesses will be closed on Thursday, Dec. 25, with the exception of some pharmacies and convenience stores, often with reduced or location-specific hours. Here’s BART’s holiday schedule for Christmas and New Year’s Here’s what Bay Area shoppers should know before heading out. Hours may vary by location, so checking store locators or calling ahead is suggested. Retailers Costco: Locations will be open on Christmas Eve, but only from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Specific hours may vary based for every store. Costco will be closed on Christmas Day. CVS: Stores will be open on Christmas Eve and have modified hours on Christmas Day. Customers can call ahead or verify hours online. Sam's Club: On Christmas Eve, stores will be open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. for Plus members and 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. for regular club members. Sam's Club locations will be closed on Christmas Day. Target: Locations will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Christmas Eve, but hours vary for each store. Target will be closed on Christmas Day. Walgreens: Stores will be open on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, but pharmacy hours may vary by location. Walmart: Most stores will be open from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., but those hours may vary by location. Walmart will be closed on Christmas Day. Grocery stores Foods Co.: Stores will be open until 10 p.m. on Christmas Eve. Fuel centers will be open until 9 p.m. and most pharmacies are open until 5 p.m. on Dec. 24.  Most locations will be closed on Christmas Day. Safeway: Most locations will be open on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, but hours may vary by location. Trader Joe's: On Christmas Eve, stores will be open until 5 p.m. and closed on Christmas Day.
