FLUVANNA COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- The Fluvanna County Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's help to gather more information about a vehicle that was stolen and several vehicle break-ins throughout the county's Palmyra area earlier this week. Authorities said they received reports of multiple veh icles being entered in residential neighborhoods, including the Villages at Nahor and the Coves at Monticello, late Sunday, Dec. 21, into early Monday, Dec. 22. Many of the vehicles involved in the break-ins were unlocked. Officials said one of the unlocked vehicles was stolen and later identified as the vehicle used to carry out the crimes. The stolen vehicle has been identified by investigators as a white 2017 Hyundai Tucson with Virginia license plate "TWS8227." Officials believe three suspects were inside the car, and were seen getting out of the vehicle and breaking into several other vehicles before fleeing the scene. Residents in the impacted areas are urged to check their vehicles and report any stolen items. People with information regarding the incidents can contact the Fluvanna County Sheriff's Office at 434-589-8211 and speak with the Criminal Investigations Section. Residents are also asked to check any doorbell-style cameras they may have and review footage recorded between the overnight period that the thefts took place.
