Last gallery stroll of the year kick starts association’s winter season
Dec 23, 2025
The Park City Gallery Association’s final gallery stroll of the year actually marks the beginning of the association’s winter season.
“People ask how business is over Thanksgiving and Christmas, but in reality business starts when the kids are out of school for the holidays,” said Trove
Gallery owner Jen Schumacher, who is also the Park City Gallery Association’s co-president. “And people are in town until April, when the season ends.”
The monthly gallery strolls usually run from 6-9 p.m. on the last Friday of the month, which means this upcoming event will land on Dec. 26, Schumacher said.
“I love that it falls between Christmas and New Years, because that’s really the busiest time in Park City,” she said. “It’s fun and free and family friendly. So, you can introduce your kids to art.”
Schumacher also thinks people are ready to get out of the house when the December stroll comes around.
“They have spent a lot of time indoors with their families for Christmas,” she said. “I also think the stroll is such an opportunity because when you’re home you don’t get to do these sorts of things. But when you’re on vacation, you have all this time, and what better way to spend time is to go and look at art.”
Another plus is the galleries are locally owned, and many feature work by artists who live in and around the area, Schumacher said.
“So the gallery strolls support local business owners and artists, which is more important than ever,” she said.
The stroll also adds to the festive feeling of the season.
“Main Street is lit up with holiday lights, and all the boutiques, restaurants and bars will be open,” she said. “We also have the (annual) snow globe stroll in full swing, so there is a lot to explore. I also think with having little snow right now, people are looking for more things to do.”
Galleries also schedule special shows or offer deals during the stroll, Schumacher said.
“We have three who will add some things to liven up the event on Friday,” she said.
Bret Webster Images, 312 Main St., owned by world-renowned fine art photographer Bret Webster, is offering deals on all pieces that feature snow.
Gallery MAR, 436 Main St., owned by Maren Mullin, who made Utah Business Magazine’s 2021 40 under 40 list, will showcase America Martin, a Los Angeles-based Colombian-American fine-art painter and a sculptor.
Summit Gallery, 825 Main St., which combines traditional and contemporary aesthetics, is currently showing a new collection by Holly Manneck, who is known for creating pop montages that celebrate popular sports and culture.
While Schumacher’s Trove Gallery isn’t specifically doing anything for Friday’s stroll, it did open a show last week featuring the work of Ben Steele.
“Ben is our No. 1 seller,” she said. “He is a Utah artist and a nationwide favorite, and we have a lot of new work by him.”

Trove isn’t the only gallery that will highlight never-before-seen works this weekend.
“I do know all the galleries are stocked up with new art for the season,” she said.
If people can’t make it to Friday’s designated gallery stroll, they will still have the chance to see these new works throughout the coming weeks, Schumacher said.
“All the galleries are open every single day, so you can do your own stroll in your own time,” she said. “There are certainly enough galleries to keep you busy all day long.”
The Park City Gallery Association currently boasts 17 galleries on its roster, and they are marked with a white flag during the gallery strolls, Schumacher said.
“For those who want to know more, all participating galleries have free gallery guides with maps and websites,” she said. “So, if you don’t see any guides at the galleries, just ask for one. And if they are an association member, they should have them.”
Schumacher also referred to parkcitygalleryassociation.com, the association website for more information.
“One thing I would like to point out is that people can ride the free bus to town, so they don’t have to park on Main Street,” she said. “But there are also easily accessible parking garages where you can park as well.”
